Moody 425 berthed in the fabulous Rubicon Marina, Playa Blanca,Lanzarote, Canary Islands... All year sailing in the sun! Berth is transferable.
Blue water equipped, she is a safe, surprisingly fast, comfortable, spacious cruiser.
We purchased 'Seize The Day' in September 2018 with the intention of completing the ARC 2019. Her previous owners had carried out a extensive and hugely expensive refit between 2010 and 2015 in preparation for a circumnavigation. Unfortunately personal circumstances led to the boat being offered for sale.
In 2019 we continued with the refit to include:
4 X 110 AH Batteries ...1 x engine start ...3 x domestic
New Raymarine linear drive autopilot unit
Replacement Stainless steel plate on steering quadrant
New Jabsco fresh water pump
New Jabsco accumulator tank
New Whale shower pump
New Rule 12v bilge pump with float switch and control panel
New Sterling battery charger
New Vetus exhaust muffler
2 x new Jabsco toilet pumps.
Due to business commitments we were forced to delay our departure until next year .. ARC 2020. We are also now planning a circumnavigation and have made the decision to purchase a larger boat possibly a Moody 46.
Hence it is with a heavy heart we offer Seize the Day for sale.
Current owner would be prepared to deliver / assist the new owner move the boat to the Med or UK.

Designed by Bill Dixon and built in 1989 by Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd, the Moody 425 is an extremely comfortable yacht with a design which provides excellent space for long distance cruising. She has three double cabins and a good-sized saloon that can comfortably seat eight on two sofas. The sofas can also double up as two single beds when required.
There is a well-appointed galley with two sinks, a gas stove with oven and grill, a front-accessed fridge and a separate top loading freezer.
The bow cabin, which can be set up as two single berths or as one double berth, has an en-suite shower, washbasin and marine WC.
The bunk cabin offers good additional storage and a great sea-berth.
The aft master cabin has a full center-line double bed, a small fitted settee, hanging locker and dresser. This cabin also has an en-suite toilet and shower area, with a washbasin and marine WC.
The centre cockpit is deep and cosy providing a safe working area even in the most challenging conditions
Her most striking extra feature has to be the steel frame arch which was added to the stern in 2015 - apart from incorporating the davits that secure the dinghy, the arch also houses two solar panels, a wind generator and the safety horseshoes, dan buoy etc.
These are very comfortable boats with space for long distance cruising and many are used as livaboards.

She has three double cabins and a good-sized saloon that can comfortably seat eight on two sofas. The sofas can also double up as two single beds when needed. There is a well-appointed galley with two sinks, a gas cooker with oven and grill, a front-accessed fridge and a separate top loading freezer. The bow cabin, which can be set up as two single berths or as one double berth with infill, has an en-suite shower, washbasin and marine WC. The aft master cabin has a full double centre-line bed with a fitted settee as well as a hanging locker and dresser. This cabin also has an en-suite toilet and shower area, with a washbasin and marine WC. Finally, there is that all important nerve center of any boat, the navigation area, which has more state-of-the-art electronic devices than you could shake a stick at - but all of which are vital for basic safety, effective navigation and reliable communication. Her most striking extra feature has to be the steel frame arch which the owner added to the stern in 2015 - apart from incorporating the davits that secure the RIB, the arch also houses two solar panels and a wind generator. Owner has also installed a binnacle in the cockpit to house a good-sized electronic chart plotter, a holding tank, watermaker and had bowthruster retro-fitted to make her handling easier and life more comfortable for two-handed sailing!
