Originally a grain lighter from Hull now a fabulous ready to go cruising home with a documented history and original registration certificate. Built on the banks of the river Hull at Beverley by Joseph Scarrs shipyard in 1905. Riveted iron construction, 63ft long and 17ft 3" wide. Originally built for D. Hurtley & sons flour millers, who owned her for sixty four years, The second owner used her as a grain lighter for twelve years (Akesters lighter men) then bought by Ernest Waddingtons of swinton and laid up for twenty six years the present owner bought, restored, and converted her thirteen years ago. Egret was powered in 2007 by the fitting of a perkins sabre six cylinder engine with a prm500 three to one ratio gearbox turning a 32" propeller. She is steered now by a manual hydraulic steering. The fitting of a 10kw super silent water cooled generator was undertaken to allow for off the grid living. The conversion was carried out by an experienced boater & tradesmen to a very high standard of design and craftsmanship. On entering the boat at the rear of the wheelhouse is found the modern galley with a excellent range of units including integrated washer, dishwasher, fridge and oven, a four burner hob unit and stainless 1,1/2 bowl sink and mixer tap, Heated by two built in radiators and lit by 10 inset led lights it has ample space for a dining table and four chairs. Leading down from the galley you enter the large open plan saloon area, With multifuel stove and two radiators, six double glazed dutch style windows are fitted making this a very light and spacious area. Forward of the saloon is the large master bedroom with high ceilings, velux windows and two double radiators leading off is the en-suite shower room to port and a built in wardrobe and dressing room to starboard. To the rear of the saloon 4 steps lead down to the house bathroom to the right, fitted with bath and overhead shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel radiator. To the left is a bunk room with two single bunks, The kerosene fired central heating boiler is located here and access to the large underfloor storage area.
